Julie Anne Dornblaser Hejny – Obituary

Julie Anne Dornblaser Hejny, surrounded by her family, slipped away from all those who love her in the early morning hours of September 11, 2018, from injuries she suffered in an ATV accident on September 2nd. She was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas on March 24, 1986, to Jim and Marcia Dornblaser and her big brother Michael. She was joined later by her little sister Cindy. Julie was remarkable from the beginning. She was fiercely independent, extremely intelligent, and always up to a new adventure or challenge. She was a force to be reckoned with as she could play soccer or softball with the best of them and she never let the chance to have a good time pass her by. Known lovingly as Sweet Pea, Jules, Sissterrr, Fav, Juju, or Baby, she was always ready for a family get-together, vacation, or to spend time at the family lake house in Heber Springs. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church all her life, a member of Sigma Kappa sorority at UCA and graduated from UAMS School of Pharmacy in 2010. After graduating, Julie had decided that the only thing she would settle for was everything, and she met and married the love of her life, Jason Dean Hejny of Ennis, Texas, in April 2014. They were blessed with two beautiful children, Walker Owen, age 3, and Hazel Anne, age 8 months. She and Jason own Family First Pharmacy in her hometown of Jacksonville. She and Jason are actively involved in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Arkansas after their daughter Hazel was diagnosed at 3 weeks of age. Julie had a beautiful spirit and a gorgeous smile to go with it. She had dozens of friends of all ages and loyal customers who will miss her greatly, but her family will miss her beyond words. Julie was part of a very close-knit family and knew the importance of family ties and traditions. Besides her parents, husband, and children, she is survived by her brother Michael Dornblaser (Jen) of Benton, her sister Cindy Blohm (John) of Jacksonville, her uncles Jimmy Gray (Cindy) of Cabot, Bob Dornblaser (Nancy) of Conway, and Ron Dornblaser of Jacksonville, her mother in law Denise Whitford of Dallas, Texas, her father in law James Hejny (Judi) of Ennis, Texas, her sister in law Jayme Benjamin (Michael) of Dallas, Texas, nephews Hunter and Rhett Dornblaser, Blake Benjamin, and niece Remy Dornblaser, and cousins Madison Gray and Jared and Rachel Dornblaser, as well as legions of other family and friends from all over our country. The family held a visitation at the First Methodist Church in Jacksonville on Friday, September 14, from 5-8pm. As a show of support for the family, they were honored to have friends and loved ones wear purple or their “Hope for Hazel” t-shirts to the visitation. The memorial service was held the following morning at the church at 10:00am, officiated by Pastor Nathan Kilbourne of the church and Pastor Glenn Hejny of Ennis, Texas. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Arkansas, Hope for Hazel Team, as this would mean more to Julie and the family than anything else. Memorials may be made online or mailed to the CF Foundation, ATTN: Hope for Hazel Team, 320 Executive Court, Ste. 302, Little Rock, AR 72205. As Julie believed with all her heart, “Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away”. Arrangements entrusted to Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136. Online guestbook: www.mooresjacksonvillefuneralhome.com
