Julie Shilen Skrivanek

Julie Shilen Skrivanek, 41, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015.
Julie was born on March 28, 1974, to Douglas E. and Debra Sue (Pipkin) Shilen. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1992. She went on to graduate from UT Arlington with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. She was a lifetime resident of Ennis.
She worked for the Terrell State Home, the Texas Baptist Home for Children, Legend Oaks and the Fresenius Dialysis Center. She was a member of The Avenue Church in Waxa­hachie and was a member of the National Association of Social Workers. She enjoyed painting with oils and acrylics and cross stitch. She loved to visit beaches, especially Destin, Florida.
She is survived by one son, Tyler Skrivanek; one daugh­ter, Whitney Skrivanek; the father of her children, Bob Skrivanek; her father: Doug Shilen and wife, Patricia; her mother, Debra Shilen; grandfather, Ed Shilen; one sister, Jenifer Reese and husband, Chris; four nephews: Jacob and Eli Reese and Caleb and Cameron Skrivanek; her dear friend, J T Shipp; aunt, Mikel Shilen; uncle, Chuck Pipkin along with a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 27, 2015, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to the Shilen-Skrivanek Children’s Fund at Prosperity Bank, 207 S. Clay Street, Ennis, Texas.
