Katherine Sobezyk Michno 1927 – 2019

Katherine Michno, 91, went to be with our Lord on February 6, 2019 in Ennis, Texas. Katherine was born in Korwin, Poland on April 24, 1927 to Antoni and Telka Sobezyk. She endured World War II in a work camp in Germany where she met and married William Michno in June of 1946. They immigrated to the United States in 1950 with their son, Walter Michno and later had a daughter, Barbara Michno Lankford. She worked and retired from Nabisco in Chicago, Illinois for 30 years. She also took great pride in her garden and enjoyed the long growing season in Texas since 2002. She is survived by her son, Walter Michno and his wife Daisy and her daughter, Barbara Lankford; a younger sister, Stasia Wojtasiewicz; and numerous nieces and nephews in Poland whom she loved dearly. Katherine is preceded in death by her father, mother, husband and older sister. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father John Dick as Celebrant.
