Larry A. Deagen

Larry A. Deagen, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on August 2, 2018. He was born on December 15, 1939 to Earnest Allen and Margaret (Cave) Deagen in Ennis, Texas. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Garrett and then joined the Catholic Church.

Larry was raised in Garrett and then transferred to Ennis where he graduated from high school. He then attended Navarro Jr. College where he obtained an associate’s degree in production management. After graduating college, Larry went to work for Ennis Business Forms as a plant manager. He then went to work in Carrollton for Roger Snap which became Trinity Forms. He was hired there as a superintendent. When he wanted to be closer to his family he took a position as plant manager with Gibson-Homans. He retired in 1994 to start his own company. For several years he was a freight broker.

In his retirement years he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing with his grandkids. He also spent a lot of close time with his little brother Ronald Wayne Deagen and his wife Judy. Larry had an interesting sense of humor and loved the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Lennie of Rice; children; Heath Deagen and wife Marisol of Ennis, Larae Tucker of Bristol and their mother Anita Nelson Deagen, stepchildren; Rebecca Jean Wodowski and husband Eddie of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Wes and Cindy Mach of Ennis, Janet and Kyle Wilson of Ennis, Andie and Justin Kopec of Ennis, 15 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a niece and nephew.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, son, Gary Deagen and brother Ronnie Deagen.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 6 to 8PM at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Ennis.

There will be a graveside service at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis.
