Larry F. Hughes
Larry F. Hughes, 70, went to be with the Lord late Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Baylor Medical Center of Dallas.
Larry was born in Corsicana, Texas, to L.F. and Anna Ruth (Hinkle) Hughes on March 5, 1942. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1961. He married Betty L. Gantt on November 23, 1962 and they made their home in Waco. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from June 1961 until May 1965 as an Aircraft Electrical Engineer. He and Betty moved to Ennis in 1965 and then to Frost in 1978.
He worked for Falcon Business Forms for fifteen years as a pressman. He was a member of Refiner’s Fire Ministry of Ennis. He raised exotic birds for ten years. He enjoyed fishing and being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Hughes of Frost; brother-in-law Perry L. Murphy of Corsicana; sister-in-laws; Kay Gantt of Frost and Jane Hughes of Ennis; three nephews: three nieces and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Barry Hughes.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 25, 2012 from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will follow visitation at 3 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Cord Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in Frost Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
