Lena Duren

Lena Reed Duren passed away August 3, 2018 at the age of 82, from Complications of Alzheimer’s in Hospice of Texarkana under the care Of Hospice of Texarkana. Mrs. Duren was born to Everett and Elsie Reed On Aug. 6, 1935 in New Boston, Tex. She was the wife and jewel of 64 years Of Max Duren, marrying on December 31, 1953 in New Boston, Tex. She was a long time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, working in The babies nursery dept. and later a member of Baylor Baptist Church Of Ennis, Tex. She retired from Hesser Drug Store in 1989. She moved to Texarkana, Tex. With her husband Max Duren in 2014, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Wake Village,Tex. She was preceded in death of her Father and Mother, Everett and Elsie Reed, Four Sisters, Pat Shelby, Barbara. Marquand, Jerry Simpson, and Mary Joe Hill, And Stepmother, Sue Reed. She is survived by her husband, Max Duren, daughter, Belinda and husband James Zalkovsky, And sons, Randy Duren and wife Nancy and son Tracy Duren. Two brothers, Doyle Reed and wife Ruth, Bill Reed and wife Masako. Three sisters, Bonnie Reed, Becky and Husband Rich Castaldy, and Jenny and Husband Larry Lee. Six Grandchildren and eleven Great Grandchildren, And Five step Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 5, 2018 in the Bates Rolf Funeral Home Chapel, New Boston, Texas with services following at 3:00 P.M. with Chaplin Donny Duren and Frank Kirvin officiating . The burial will follow in the Red Bayou Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Grandsons, Mark Duren, Seth Vance, Bobby Benskin, Eric Benskin, Charles Farina , Bryan Zalkovsky No flowers please.
