Marcos Lasos

On October 6, 2018 Marcos Lasos won his long, courageous battle with cancer, and went home to live with his Savior, Jesus Christ. Marcos died at his Ennis residence, with his loving wife and family by his side, at the age of 58. Marcos was born in George West, TX on June 18, 1960, to Ramona Rodriguez. He left school, at an early age, to financially provide for his mother and sister. On August 4, 2001, he married the love of his life, Paula Ingram, and they made their home in Bardwell. Marcos was a conscientious, dedicated employee, for the City of Ennis, for over twenty years, retiring in September 2017. Marcos was honorable, loyal and compassionate; eager to assist anyone in need. His true passion, for over thirty years, was volunteering as a firefighter, for the Bardwell Fire Department. He was genuinely loveable and well-known for his friendly smile and generous heart. Marcos was preceded in death by his mother, Ramona Rodriguez; brother-in law, Jose “Cowboy” Sauzameda; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Jan Powell. He is survived by his wife, Paula; step-daughters, Shannon Lefler (Donnie) and Kelly Fulton; sister, San Juanita Sauzameda; niece, Esme Sauzameda, step-grandchildren; Kelci, Blake, Gwen, Tanner and Grady; a host of extended family and friends; and his cherished pets, Dory Lynn and Charlie Brown. Visitation was held on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 6-8 pm in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. A celebration of Marcos’ life was held at 10 am in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, with Pastor Michael Howard officiating. Interment followed, at Elm Branch Cemetery in Bardwell. In lieu of flowers, please honor Marcos’ memory by making donations to: The Bardwell Volunteer Fire Dept. P.O. Box 201, Bardwell, Texas 75101.
