Mark Anthony Durbin, Sr.

Mark Anthony Durbin, Sr. was born on September 20, 1932, in Alma, TX.    After a lengthy illness, he returned to his to heavenly home on Saturday, October 15, 2011.
He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He met the love of his life at a St. Patrick’s Day Dance March 1962 and married Anna Jo (Ladd) Durbin on December 28, 1962.  He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus serving as Grand Knight in 1962 for Council #1353 in Ennis, TX, and later transferring to St. Francis Council #12484 in Lancaster, where he was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Anna Jo Durbin, daughter – Teresa Holmes-Walker of Red Oak; sons – Mark Durbin, Jr. of Mesquite; Patrick Durbin of Royce City and Joseph Durbin of Mesquite; grandchildren, Brenda and Catherine Holmes, Katie Hudson, Charles and Heather Durbin; Jacquelyn Walker, John Walker, Jr., and Jacob Walker; sisters, Sister Sylvan Durbin of San Antonio, Anna Galetka and Elizabeth Holland of Ennis; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Augustine and Naomi Durbin; sisters – Anna Ruth Durbin, Clara Rita Peveto; brothers – James Durbin and Joseph Durbin; and grandson – Joshua Walker.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 27th at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1537 Rogers Ave, Lancaster, Texas.  Funeral  Mass at 10:00 am on Friday, October 28th at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with internment at 2:30 pm at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association in memory of Mark A. Durbin, Sr. @ http://www.lungusa.org/donate/
