Maude Skelton

Maude Skelton, 98, passed away in Ennis on Saturday, March 26, 2011.

Maude was born on August 15, 1912 in Mesquite, Texas to Will and Julia (Henry) Smith.

She grew up in Mesquite and graduated from Mesquite High School in 1931.

During World War II she worked for Vaught Manufacturing assembling P-51 Mustangs. After the war she worked as an independent seamstress. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ennis and MAAGS. She enjoyed being outside and working in the flower garden.

She is survived by one nephew, Terry Munn and his wife, Dhelly of Ennis; one niece, Brenda and her husband, Everett Shepperd of Farmington, New Mexico, and grandchildren; Robin Vyers and Stefanie and her husband, Travis Borroughs.

A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Keith Murray officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 6 until 8 p.m. at J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
