Melinda Thompson Kazee

Melinda Thompson Kazee, 57, passed away in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. Melinda was born in DeKalb, Mississippi on January 27, 1961 to E.B. and Mary Faye (Peden) Thompson. She grew up in Ennis and attended Ennis High School.She worked as a waitress for Golden Corral, in production at Leggett and Platt and was a Home Health Care provider. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Her family was the light of her life and she enjoyed genealogy. She had been a soccer coach in years past. She is survived by her sons: John Kazee and wife, Nicole; Bryan Kazee and wife, Mary; daughter, Mary Gilley; eight grandchildren; her mother, Mary Thompson; brother, Mark Thompson and sister, Cynthia Roberts. She is preceded in death by her father, E.B. Thompson, grandmother, Nan McKay, brother, Carl Thompson and grandson, Eric Gilley.Visitation was held on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life was held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rod Cordsen and Russell Roberts officiating. Pallbearers will be Devin Kruse, Chris Maliska, C.J. Thompson, Russell Roberts, William Gilley and Cadden Kazee. Honorary Pallbearers Austin Kazee, Dallas Kazee and Dylan Kazee. Interment followed in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
