Patricia “Pat” Ann-Crayton Schniebs

Patricia “Pat” Ann Schniebs passed away at her home Tuesday November 28, 2017. Pat was born July 6, 1947 to Major Lloyd Raymond Crayton and Margaret Ann Crayton at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Pat traveled the world with her family during the time her father was an officer in the Army Air Corp. before finally settling in Irving Texas where she attended Irving High School. Later she received her degree in Nursing from El Centro College of Dallas.
Pat was a funny, talented, and loving woman. She learned crocheting and tatting on the laps of her Aunts. Professionally, she was a gyn/obstetrics nurse, responsible for caring for women and helping birth hundreds of babies over the years while working in labor and delivery of Parkland Memorial, Lake Pointe Hospital, and finally at Ennis Regional Hospital. When she retired, she designed and sewed almost all the costumes for plays at the Ennis Theatre and even performed in roles in some of the plays. But her best role was that of sister, cousin, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother…she LOVED her family and never passed up a chance to let a family member know that she loved and valued them. Pat was especially proud her wonderful family and cousins whom she spoke to on a weekly bases. Her family, relationships, and memories she made with them was the thing she loved most in life. May all of her family tell the stories in her memory and remain “Close as Cordwood.”
Pat is survived by her husband of 35 years Johnny Schniebs and granddaughter Lane Bulmer as well as Brother Michael Raymond Crayton of Red Oak and Sister Diane Peikert of Irving. Daughters: Tracey and husband James McAda of Rowlett, Tori Forbes and Chopper Davidson of Wylie, Brandi Savoie Lafayette, La., Elizabeth and husband Stephen Paprocki of San Antonio, and Taryn Schniebs of Garland. In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made in her name to The Ennis Public Theatre and Ennis Helping Hands as these were two of her passions she had in her life.
