Reese Motley – Obituary

Reese Motley, 75, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. Reese was born March 9, 1943 to Cecil C. and Mary Jane (Benthall) Motley. He grew up in Abilene Texas and attended Lincoln Schools. On January 31, 1963 he was married to Peggy Owens and they made their home in Abilene, then to Sweetwater for seventeen years and to Ennis in 1982. He worked as a long haul truck driver for Ennis Transportation for thirty years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Palmer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working cattle and vegetable gardening. He is survived by his wife of over fifty-five years, Peggy Motley; son, David Motley; daughters: Reesa Corley and husband, David; and Karyn Lawson; six grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; brother, C.L. Motley and sister, Elsie Collett. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Charles and J.A. Motley. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Palmer with Rev. Paul Gauntt officiating.
