Richard A. Nix

2816758Richard A. Nix, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 22, 2014.
Richard was born in Dallas, Texas on July 19, 1933 to Ollie Dennie and Lillian Alta (Webb) Nix. He grew up in Mesquite, Texas and graduated from Mesquite High School in 1951. On February 14, 1981 he married Sharon Bomar and they made their home in Grand Prairie. They later moved to Wills Point, then to Lancaster and finally to Ennis. He served his country proudly in the United States Army.
He worked for twelve years for The Fabricators in Dallas then for Barney LaBeaume for nine years. He became the owner of several business including Restaurant Equipment Fabricators, Supreme Metal Fabracators and Advanced Metal Stamping before retiring. He was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis where he started the “Young At Heart” Class seventeen years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Nix; sons: Kevin Nix and wife, Cindy and Jeff Dean and wife, Courtney; daughters: RaDonna Huckaby and husband, Mike and Stacie Bates and husband, Lee; twelve grandchildren: five great-grandsons; Richard was anticipating the birth of his first great-granddaughter and two brothers: Robert Nix and Harry Nix.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Russell Nix.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis with Rev. Mike Sellers officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Cate, Clint Evans, Cody Jacobs, Oscor Muniz, Jayce Oldacre, Noah Bates and Ben Bates. Services will be under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Tabernacle Baptist Church, Ennis, Texas.
