Richard H. Kelley


Richard H. Kelley, 64, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Saturday, December 15, 2012. Richard was born in Fort Sill, OK on May 4, 1948 to Everett and Cathren (Beall) Kelley. He graduated from Mineral Wells school as valedictorian of his class. He received his Bachelor’s of Science degree from West Point Class of 1970 and his Master’s degree also in Science from Texas A&M University. On December 25, 1985 he married Diane Williams Bush and they made their home in Massachusetts and Connecticut. He attended West Point Military Academy and was a member of the United States Army for five years of active duty and for thirteen years in the reserves for a total of eighteen years of service to his country. He worked for Entergy for sixteen years as a nuclear engineer. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He enjoyed cross-country snow skiing. He was a devoted family man who worked hard and enjoyed his work. He enjoyed traveling with family. He is survived by his wife, Diane Kelley; daughter, Christie and her husband, Sara Chan; step-daughter, Sunny Kelley; four grandchildren: Christian, Nathan and Joshua Chan and Max Liberti; his mother, Cathren “Katy” Snyder; sister, Lynn and her husband Thomas Teixeira; brother-in-law, Dane Williams and his wife, Susan; sister-in-law, Dorothy Williams; nieces: Cathern Teixeria and Dalyn and her husband, Zach Nolan along with nephews: Tom Teixeria and his wife, Amanda and Curry Williams and his wife, Kari. He is preceded in death by his father Everett Kelley and step-father, Harold Snyder. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.
