Romualdo Ricardo Gaytan

Rev. Romualdo Ricardo Gaytan, 87, went home to be with his Savior on Saturday, August 26, 2017 in Ennis, Texas.
Romualdo was born in Santa Maria, Mexico on February 7, 1930 to Silverio and Maria (Rivas) Gaytan. He grew up in Mexico and Texas. He attended school in Mexico. On September 6, 1959 he married Sara Zamarripa, his “corazon”, and they made their home in Eagle Pass, then to Lubbock and settled in Ennis in 1967.
He was the Pastor and spiritual leader of several churches during his ministry including: El Redentor of Lubbock, Texas twice; Carrizo Springs, Texas; El Buen Pastor of Ennis, Texas twice; El Aposento Alto of Monterey, California; El Aposento Alto of Corsicana and Rosa De Saron of Kaufman. He enjoyed wood working and macramé.
He touched many lives and many tears will be shed over his passing. His family will need your support in the days to come as they deal with their loss. Those left to continue his ministry include his loving wife of almost fifty-eight years, Rev. Sara Gaytan; children: Ana Maria Monreal and husband, Hector, Rev. Sarah L. Mendoza and husband, Rev. Roberto Mendoza, Asenath Gaytan, Esther E. Garcia and husband, Juan Carlos and Michael M. Gaitan; brothers: Candelario Gaytan and Andres Gaytan; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
A wake service will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
A Celebration of his life will take place on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
