Ronald N. Peel

Ronald N. Peel, 84, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 in Ennis, Texas. Ronald was born in Teague, Texas on September 10, 1934 to Everett E. and Lena Frances “Happy” (Newell) Peel. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1953. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy from 1957-1961 in the Pacific. He worked for Ennis Business Forms and for Ryder Truck Rental for over thirty years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ennis, American Legion, Ennis Jaycee’s and Ennis Lions Club. Ronald was involved in Boy Scouts as a scout and then Scout Master for over twenty-five years, with Troop #210. He was the first scout in that troop to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. He is survived by daughters: Ronda Hollingsworth and husband, Larry and Robin Wood; grandsons: Derek Hollingsworth, Brandon Curry and Clay Curry; eight great-grandchildren along with a host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers. A memorial gathering for family and friends was held at 879 Walker Creek Road, on Sunday, September 23, 2018 beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Boy Scout Troop #210 in care of First United Methodist Church, 300 N. Sherman Street, Ennis, Texas 75119.
