Sara Zamarripa Gaytan 1932 – 2019

Sara Zamarripa Gaytan, 87, went home to meet her Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 11, 2019. Sara was born in Jimenez Acuna, Coah, Mexico on March 29, 1932 to Martin and Elojia (Banda) Zamarripa. Sara grew up in Mexico and Texas. On September 6, 1959 she married Romualdo Gaytan and they ministered in many places around Texas including Eagle Pass, Lubbock and settled in Ennis in 1967. She was the Pastor and spiritual leader of several churched during her ministry including: El Redentor of Lubbock, twice: Carrizo Springs; El Buen Pastor of Ennis, twice; El Aposento Alto of Monterey, California; El Aposento Alto of Corsican and Rosa De Saron of Kaufman. She enjoyed music, sewing, flower gardening, family and being a Minister. Sara touched many lives and many tears will be shed over her passing. Her families left behind to carry on the ministry are children: Ana Maria Monreal and husband, Hector, Rev. Sarah L. Mendoza and husband, Rev. Roberto Mendoza, Asenath Gaytan, Esther E. Garcia and husband, Juan Carlos and only son, Michael Martin Gaitan; grandchildren: Jeremiah Monreal and wife, Lindsay, Tabitha Herrera and husband, Robert, Robert Mendoza II and fiancé, Lauren, Reynolds Isaac Mendoza and wife, Meghan, Stephen Mendoza, Benjamin Garcia, Andrew Garcia, Courtney Garcia and Elizabeth Gaitan; great-grandchildren: Eliana, Eden and Ryan Herrera; sister-in-law, Florinda Zamarripa along with a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother, Santiago Zamarripa and a sister, Paula Zamarripa. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. with a Service of Remembrance to follow beginning at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 beginning at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
