Verna Estell Clem

Verna Estell Clem, 85, passed away in Waco, Texas, on Thursday, June 25, 2015.

Verna was born on April 19, 1930, in Coryell County to Ephraim Delos and Vera Mae (Freeman) Walker. She grew up in Coryell County and attended Pearl School System. On December 21, 1946, she married T. V. Clem, Jr. They made their home in Ennis before moving to Italy in 1978.
She worked for the Italy ISD for five years as a librarian in the Elementary School and for the City of Italy for over twenty years as librarian. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Waxahachie. She loved children, reading, sewing and gardening.

She will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her, and her memory will be cherished most by her family including her son, Larry Clem; daughter, Vivian Hugghins; daughter-in-law, Frances Banks Clem; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren along with a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, T.V. Clem, Jr.; one son, Bobby Clem; one sister, Ino Walker Hall of Evant; and son-in-law, Bobby Mack Hugghins.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Monday, June 29, at 11 a.m. in the Bee House Cemetery of Evant under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. www.jekeevermortuary.com
