Wynell Rose

Wynell H. Rose, 83, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Monday, October 9, 2017. Wynell was born on April 12, 1934 to Bernard R. and Lura Mae (Lewis) Harrison. She grew up in Alma and Ennis graduating from Ennis High School in 1951. She married John William Rose, Jr. in April of 1953. She moved to California for a short time before moving back to Ennis from Corsicana in 1957. She worked for Ennis Business forms for ten years doing data entry before beginning her twenty-nine year career with the City of Ennis as the City Secretary. She was a member of the Ennis Kiwanis Club. She enjoyed camping, traveling and especially time spent with family. She is survived by sons: Billy Rose and wife, Sydney and Stephen Rose and wife, Ida; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Delaine Dixon along with a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, John William Rose, Jr. on October 25, 1995, her parents and three brothers: Bernard “Raymond” Harrison, Jr., Robert Harrison and Lewis “Cotton” Harrison. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. James Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
