Zelma E. North

2520681Zelma E. North, 91, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 in Ennis, Texas.

Zelma was born June 12, 1922 to Jesse Evans and Pauline Young in Kansas City, Missouri. She married Leland V. North, Jr. on July 1, 1944, and lived in Raytown, Missouri. Zelma worked for Sears Roebuck where she met her husband. She quit work to become a homemaker and raise her children. She then returned to Sears where she worked for 13 more years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ennis and Blue Ridge Methodist in Raytown, Missouri. After her husband’s retirement in 1978, they traveled for 10 years before moving to Ennis in 1988.

She is survived by three daughters: Paulette, and her husband Carney Williams of Lees Summit, MO, Pam, and her husband Bill Woods of Stilwell, KS, and Patsy, and her husband Donald Watts of Ennis, TX; one sister, Alberta Hanna of Raytown, MO; one brother, Albert Evans of Nevada, MO; two grandsons: Brian Woods and Scott Williams; five great-grandchildren: Anna, Marissa, Jessica, Jackson and Alexander.

Graveside Prayer Service will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 10 a.m. in Myrtle Cemetery. Interment will follow, under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
