Local woman wins grocery shopping spree

Groceries were flying, and so was Donna Zabojnik as she raced through H-E-B, filling her grocery cart as full and as quickly as she could.
As the winner of Citizens National Bank’s Grand Shopping Spree, Zabojnik had three minutes in which to grab as much as she could, and her cart could handle.
With a final tally of $939.68 worth of groceries, it was well worth the effort.
"This is so great,” Zabojnik said.
“I really appreciate CNB of Texas for this. The H-E-B employees have been great, too."
Zabojnik won the opportunity for the free groceries after having her name drawn from hundreds of names entered during Citizens National Bank’s grand opening promotion at H-E-B.
Zabojnik was not the only winner at CNB’s Grand Opening.
H-E-B shoppers had the opportunity to “vote” – by placing coins in special containers – for the local charity of their choice. At the conclusion of the promotion, the organization with the most “votes” received the greatest donation. CNB of Texas presented a $500 check to the Boys and Girls Club of Ennis, which was the winning charity.
Receiving $100 checks were: Friends of Ennis Public Library, Helping Hands, Greater Ennis United Way, Meals on Wheels and ACROSS.
This brought to $1,000 the total of charitable donations by Citizens National Bank of Texas to organizations that benefit Ennis.
"CNB of Texas takes a great deal of pride in getting involved and giving back to the community in each of our markets,” CNB Team Leader Janie Aycock Williams said. “The communities we serve have all been so good to us, and we enjoy being able to give something back in return."
CNB’s newest branch is the only bank in Ennis to provide full-service banking 7 days a week. The new location offers complete financial services including personal and business banking, mortgage lending, retirement planning and more.
The new CNB Texas location in H-E-B is the first of two CNB branches opening this year in Ennis. The second location, which will be at 500 E. Ennis Ave., is scheduled to be completed in late 2007.
Locally owned and operated, CNB of Texas was founded in 1868 and is the third oldest independent bank in Texas. CNB Texas’s newest branch in Ennis is the sixteenth location for the group, which also has banking facilities in Waxahachie, Midlothian, Red Oak, Cedar Hill, Crowley, Italy, Maypearl, Kaufman, Terrell and Venus.
