Criminal mischief on the rise in Ennis

The number of criminal mischief reports has increased and it is no mystery as to the reason behind these incidents.
School has been out only a few days and Ennis police already have seen the ramifications of teenagers with too much time on their hands and not enough respect for their fellow citizens.
Whether it is graffiti on buildings or cars, broken windows or some other type of property damage, Ennis home and property owners should keep an eye out in their neighborhood this holiday as a preventative measure regarding criminal mischief. Police have said it’s common during the summer and Christmas break for the amount of criminal mischief reports to increase due to troublemaking kids not being monitored.
While it is the police department’s job to prevent criminal activity and bring criminals to justice, they can’t do it alone. Parents need to do their parent as well. Not just by keeping an eye on their children and monitoring where they go and whom they hang out with, but also by taking a proactive step and being involved in their child’s life.
It is no secret that teenagers don’t want to be questioned about their personal business – especially from their parents – but it has been proven that parents who are involved in their child’s life stand less of a chance to raise a delinquent.
With all the chaos that is associated with the Christmas holiday, remember to keep your children out of trouble and help prevent the amount of criminal mischief that Ennis residents suffer because of bored teens.
