Chamber CEO graduates early

Jeannette Patak, President of the Ennis Chamber of Commerce has graduated from the Institute for Organization Management, a four-year nonprofit-leadership training program at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis.
Although the program is set up to be completed in four years, Patak chose, with the encouragement of the chamber board, to fast-track the course and she finished in two years. With graduation certificate in hand, she now has the option to earn points toward a Certified Chamber Executive credential.
Patak said business concerns have been changing at a rapid pace, and the program and others like it give chamber executives and managers the tools necessary to promote smaller start-up businesses, as well as large corporations in full swing.
“The program also gives participants an opportunity to network with each other in all areas of day-to-day operations, including advertising, event coordination and member benefits,” Patak said. “Local chambers are designed to assist their members in areas of growth and daily functions and getting their product into public domain.”
“Institute graduates are recognized across the country as leaders in the communities,” said Raymond P. Towle, the U. S. Chamber’s vice president of Institute for Organization Management. “These individuals have the knowledge, skills and dedication to achieve professional and organizational success in the dynamic association and chamber industries.”
