Fans give it up for MJ

In life and in death, Michael Jackson brought people together.
This was apparent in Ennis Monday night as crowds of Jackson’s fans, both young and old, gathered in the parking lot of Blockbuster to celebrate the singer’s life and music.
As Jackson’s hits blared from the speakers, people signed a poster with their condolences to his family. Both children and adults held up signs on the sidewalk to alert passing motorists of the vigil taking place.
Many fans reminisced about their favorite Jackson memories. Tracy Lemonia, who was one of 10 children, remembers when Jackson came to Dallas in 1988. Money was tight in such a large family, she said, but three of her sisters saved up enough so they could attend the show. Lemonia brought her daughter, also a Jackson fan, to the vigil.
“Her favorite song is ‘Billie Jean,’ ” Lemonia said. “We miss Michael.”
Tina Anderson attended the vigil with her friends and brought a Jackson doll. She said her favorite Jackson songs are “Billie Jean” and “Human Nature.”
“Michael Jackson is the best,” Anderson said. “There is no one else like him.”
