Lions crush Crosby in season opener

Ennis had to hang tight until Saturday night to start the ‘09 season, and their performance made it well worth the wait.
The Lions (1-0) were unbelievable in the opening half, piling up 56 points thanks to a 42-point second quarter against the Crosby Cougars. The offensive starters didn’t even take the field in the second half as Ennis put the finishing touches on a 62-16 win. Crosby reached the second round of the playoffs last year and had 10 starters back, but the coaches chose to play man coverage all night and the Lions ate them alive.
“It was really good to execute the way we did and that wasn’t far from a perfect half,” said coach Sam Harrell.
