Alcohol advertising rules raise concerns

City Commissioner Red Sanders agrees with resident Sam Tenpenny’s opinion that a regulation governing the way businesses advertise alcohol sales has no place in an ordinance the commission considered Monday.
As part of its regularly scheduled meeting, the city held its first reading on a new version of a zoning ordinance governing applications for private club overlays in the city.

Private clubs would include a small set of establishments with exclusive membership that may try to apply for alcohol permits with the state.
