Fire fighters, EISD boost teacher’s cancer efforts

The Ennis Fire Fighters and Ennis ISD have teamed up to support one Ennis teacher as she and her team do their part to find a cure for breast cancer.
Ashlee Nichols, a teacher at Crockett Early Childhood Center, decided to put together a team to walk the 60 miles in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day in Dallas to show her support for her mother. Nichols’ mother, Jan White (principal at Austin Elementary) was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago. Since then, White has undergone a double mastectomy, had reconstructive surgery and chemotherapy. She is currently being treated with immunotherapy, Nichols said.
