The law shares with Kiwanis

The goal of the justice system is to encourage offenders to obey the law, a prosecutor from the District Attorney’s office told Kiwanis Club members Thursday.
Working for the DA’s office, Christin Barnes has prosecuted a variety of criminal cases. Barnes, along with Precinct One Justice of the Peace Bill Woody, spoke to the Kiwanis Club about their jobs in the local justice system.

“It is our job to make sure justice is sought and found,” Barnes said. “I make it a point to make sure I am as fair and just as possible.”
Barnes said she doesn’t always have to “win” a case for justice to be carried out. She also said it is not necessarily the court’s job to punish those who break the law.
