Police investigate drive-by

Ennis police are investigating a drive-by shooting that happened over the weekend.
Det. Sgt. Mike Hopson, Ennis Police Department spokesman, said that a complainant living in the 300 block of E. Denton St. reported to officers through a translator that he’d been shot during a drive-by shooting in the early morning hours of Saturday.

Officers met the man at Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie, where he was being treated for a cut on his head.

“He said he’d heard a gunshot, walked to the front of his house and noticed that his head was bleeding,” Hopson said. “He reported that he thought a bullet had grazed his head, and a cousin took him to the hospital.”
