Cougars power past Lions with rush attack

Facing a more experienced team on its home turf, Lion football needed to be sharp as a tack on Friday night.
Unfortunately, Ennis miscues combined with an explosive Arlington Seguin rushing attack to enable the Cougars to cruise to a 40-7 victory in the season opener for both teams. Seguin had 10 rushes of 10 yards or better on its way to eight yards per carry, while holding the Lions (0-1) to just 2.6 yards per tote. The Cougars (1-0) also won the turnover battle 3-1.

“Arlington Seguin had 14 starters back and that experience really seemed to show up (Friday),” said coach Steve Marrow. “Some of our inexperience came to the forefront. I think their athletic ability got to us (Friday). They were awfully shifty and fast.”
