Denny’s doors reopen

Denny’s location in Ennis, which was shuttered by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts on Wednesday for unpaid back sales taxes totaling $45,000, is again serving its customers.
The Wednesday seizure was reportedly handled within a few hours as ownership began working with the state to pay owed taxes.

Comptroller’s spokesman RJ DeSilva said Thursday that the seizure procedure executed at the building is called a “full seizure,” one of the agency’s options in situations where sales taxes have not been paid over a period of time.
