Lionettes trick-or-treating for food

The Ennis High School Lionettes are giving back to the community this Halloween with a special form of trick-or-treating.
The ladies of the EHS drill team will collect canned goods and non-perishable food items from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 31 as they go door-to-door to trick-or-treat for donations.

They are doing this as a part of their community service project for the year with everything collected going to Helping Hands of Ennis. The girls will visit several Ennis neighborhoods and donations can be dropped off at any time to Super 1 Foods, All Star Bowl, St. John’s Catholic Church or The Way, Truth and Life Church in the designated boxes.

Cassie Ortiz, Lionettes coach and sponsor, said the team wanted to end their busy football season by giving back to their community.
