Early voting slow in Ellis

Since early voting began in Ellis County on Oct. 18, more than 8,000 ballots have been cast in Ennis, Red Oak, Waxahachie and Midlothian, with Ennis behind its peers by around 200 voters.
Early voting finishes Friday for the Nov. 2 general election, which features races for both national and statewide offices as well as local offices at the county level. So far, county elections office figures up to Tuesday’s results show Ennis has tallied 1,324 early votes, Red Oak has logged 1,561, Waxahachie has seen 3,394 and 1,994 have voted in Midlothian for a total of 8,274 early votes.

Locally in Ennis, the polling location for casting early votes is the Ennis Sub-Courthouse, located at 207 S. Sonoma Trail. Voting hours run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
