ATV course challenges XC runners


Cross Country runners took to a new course in the area at Midlothian’s TexPlex Park, where the challenging terrain is generally covered by ATV’s with four wheels. Hundreds of runners, including those from 20 Class 5A and 6A teams, including the Ennis varsity, with Stoney Duke finishing 14th on the 3.1 mile course. Duke, a 6’0 junior with a sinewy build, accomplished the multi-terrain track in 18:56. Jeremiah Serrano Velez, a senior from Killeen Shoemaker, crossed the tape first in 17:10.13, beating a pair from Midlothian, junior Tanner Henderson (17:33.51) and senior Jacob McElhanon (18:03.82).
