In perhaps the biggest game in Avalon football history, the No. 10 Eagles rallied to defeat No. 8 Milford, 55-54, to complete their first-ever 10-0 season. The Bulldogs, who went 13-2 while advancing to the Class 1A state title game a year ago, took the lead, 54-47, with 4:19 to play before Avalon staged one final drive at a perfect regular season.
