Bass fishing team starts in fall


Joining high school fishing teams across the state, Ennis has made the preparatory moves to launch their own in the fall of 2018.Cole Reno, a sophomore angler, said during a Monday meeting of two dozen prospective team members, “Our reason for joining is simple. We just want to fish. Some of us might even go pro.” The bass club, whose faculty sponsor is Tommy Copeland, will also have the benefit of senior Ty Zabojnik, who will graduate prior to the team’s first tournament. His energy and passion is helping the squad as they seek sponsors, which includes business backers and even those who might sponsor some of the teams with boats.
