Beadles retires from SAGU

By its very nature coaching elicits a degree of second-guessing and criticism. Besides thick skin, SAGU’s Arlon Beadles took an approach that was a blend of old school and southern gentleman.

He recently retired following 50 years in the coaching profession, this his 10th season as the head coach of women’s basketball at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie. Having surpassed 70 on the odometer, he relates well to the Johnny Cash hit, “I’ve Been Everywhere, Man.”
