District showdown, Lions host unbeaten SS


When Ennis (3-2) and Sulphur Springs (4-0) clash at Lion Memorial Stadium, it will be a matchup that pits two teams who are very familiar with success, qualifying for the playoffs and winning a state championship. Over the past 11 years they are side-by-side yet nearly 100 miles apart. When they collide on Friday, the Lions will have a .649 winning percentage (85-46 record) compared to the Wildcats’ .618 (81-50), with each boasting of a state crown, Ennis in 2014, Sulphur Springs in 2008.
