EHS band staying in step for upcoming year

Anticipating what will likely be another award winning season of top notch performances, the Ennis High School marching band began rehearsing on Thursday. Gary Goodwin, the band director since 1994, has been at the helm longer than any of his ten predecessors. With a string of 42 consecutive first division ratings, and 61 of 62 years since the University Interscholastic League (UIL) began marching competition, this could be the largest band in school history. “We’ll be practicing indoors and outdoors,” said Goodwin, “though I do not anticipate using the indoor facility very much.
