Lady Lions head to the hills

Following another home loss on Friday to Class 4A Mexia, the varsity girls basketball team from Ennis hopes to bounce back this weekend when they head to Western Hills High School for a three-day tournament. Held on the west side of Fort Worth, the Lady Lions, who fell to their fourth consecutive defeat and sixth-in-seven games in a 64-55 setback to Mexia, will compete against a nine-team field. Head Coach David Kilpatrick’s squad is sure to play four or five games during a Thursday, Friday and Saturday bracket schedule. Teams are already divided into three 3-team groups, translating into two games on Thursday. Joining Ennis in Pool B on Dec. 6 are Class 5A Dallas Adamson (3-3) and Class 5A Chisholm Trail (3-3).
