Ennis cross country prepare for new season


Over the river and through the woods may lead some to grandmother’s house but it is a common path for the Ennis cross country team. Lonnie Redning, the veteran head coach, is leading both the girls and boys teams into the fast-approaching fall season. The harriers are set to compete in a newly aligned group, since the University Interscholastic League placed Ennis in a district with Cleburne, Corsicana, Joshua, Midlothian, Red Oak and Waco University. “The depth of the squads will we encounter in the new district will be deeper,” said Redning. “The top squads, I believe, will be Midlothian for the girls and Corsicana for the boys.” Read stories like this and more in your latest edition of The Ennis News.
