Ennis defense crushes Tigers in district opener

Tydra Dickerson connected four times from beyond the arc to power Ennis to an 80-31 demolition of Corsicana on the road on Friday. The game was the first in District 17-5A competition. The junior guard who has struggled to regain her rhythm after season-ending knee surgery a year ago, poured in 14 points by making good on 4-of-10 long distance shots as the Lady Lions rolled. She had a career-high 15 against Class 6A North Garland earlier this season, but has been held scoreless in 14 games. Adjusting to the discomfort and the fear of exerting pressure on the knee, she said two weeks ago that her struggles have persisted. “But I am determined to get better and to focus on my shooting,” she explained.
