Ennis faces Corsicana Friday

The top three run producers for the Lady Lions so far this season are, from left, Emilie Hollingsworth, Monica Monreal and Mattie Beakley. Putting an end to consecutive losses, Ennis thumped winless Nacogdoches, 9-1, on the road on Friday. The Lady Lions, 11-6 overall, leveled their league mark to 3-3 to remain in fourth place in District 17-5A. The top four teams make the playoffs, though a fourth place finish would pit the Lady Lions with the District 18-5A champions, currently College Station (21-3-1). Ennis trails Whitehouse (14-7-1), Lindale (12-8) and Jacksonville (12-6-1), all of which are tied with one district loss. Team Maroon played at Lindale on Tuesday, Apr. 10. The Lady Eagles rallied for a 9-8 win in the first meeting in Ennis. It will be the final road game of the regular season for head coach Glenn Banker and his team.
