Ennis front line paces team in volleyball tourney

Ennis traveled east and found exactly what they needed at the Eustace Lady Bulldog volleyball tournament over the weekend. The team reeled off three straight wins on Saturday to capture first place in the Gold Division to cap the two day tourney with a 5-1 record. While lifting their overall season record to 8-4, the Lady Lions lone loss at the 24-team (six groups of four teams) event came against Scurry-Rosser, who won it all. . The Class 3A Wildcats, now 9-1, are ranked No. 12 in the state by the Texas Girls Coaches Association. They topped Ennis, 25-15 and 25-20, on the first day of the tournament, though the Lady Lions bounced back to whip Buffalo and Elkhart, a pair of Class 3A teams.
