Ennis to take its swings at Lovejoy

When No. 6 Ennis (23-5) and No. 9 Lovejoy (27-4) meet in the second game of a best-of-three series Friday at Rockwall’s Campbell Complex, the post-season rivals will have plenty at stake.

Trailing 1-0 in the Class 5A Region II semifinals, the Lady Lions need to win to play in Saturday’s 1 p.m. decisive third game. A loss on Friday will end the season for Team Maroon.

The past two years the series required three games to determine the winner, who went on to finish second in the state each time.
