Ferris baseball wins thriller

The Yellowjackets Riley Fagan hurled a complete game, seven hitter as Ferris edged arch-rival Crandall, 3-2, on Tuesday. He yielded two earned runs, two walks and struck out six. Late in the game with two on base, Gage Bradshaw made a defensive charge and threw out the lead runner at third. The Jackets finished off the Pirates when third baseman Roman Abrego made a long throw to first. Three players registered two hits each for Ferris, Nate Aguinaga, Abrego and Fagan. Jose Martinez, Tanner Maddox and Raymond Gonzalez were credited with RBI. The Jackets, now 5-7-1, are at Nevada Community (4-6) on Mar. 27, and then host Caddo Mills (6-2) at 3 p.m. on Mar. 30.
