Ferris captures district crown with win


Senior striker Heriberto Diaz scored three goals and Ferris dominated Crandall on the road, 4-1, to clinch the District 12-4A championship on Friday. The win lifted the Yellowjackets overall record to 14-5-2 and their mark in the district to 8-2. Crandall, who edged the Jax a month ago in Ferris, 2-0, dropped to 16-5-3 and 7-3. “This win is huge for us and for Ferris,” said first year head coach Erik White. “This team embodies the spirit of Ferris and showed it on the field tonight.
