Ferris trio getting their kicks

Ferris soccer stars, from left, Alexis Palos, Heriberto Diaz and Yair Gonzalez are having themselves a stellar season, each appearing on the Metroplex’s top-10 scoring list. Yellow jackets are known to be more aggressive and at their pestiest in late summer or early fall. In nearby Ferris, however, there is a trio whose sting is most notable in late winter and early spring. A year after the boys soccer team racked up a 12-8-2 record and scored 43 goals, this year’s predatory social wasps are 12-5-2 and, with 85 goals, are packing quite a scoring punch. Three players are leading the way for the highest goals per game average, 4.7, among all teams in the Metroplex. Interestingly, the next two best offenses are also local, No. 2 Corsicana (3.9) and No. 3 Waxahachie (3.1). Read stories like this and more in your latest edition of The Ennis News.
