Former Ennis running back trying to break in at U of H

Former Ennis all-state running back Terence Williams, a 6’2, 222 pound senior, began practices with his new team this week at the University of Houston. He brings 1,859 career yards and 15 touchdowns in three seasons at Baylor to the Cougars after transferring. A coaching and systems change in Waco is partly what led Williams, the No. 2 all-time rusher in Ennis, to spend his final year of eligibility in H-town. His best year with the Bears came as a sophomore when he scored 11 rushing touchdowns enroute to 1,048 yards. He hopes to be a major contributor for Head Coach Major Applewhite’s offense this season. Houston went 7-4 in the regular season before falling, 33-27, to Boise State in the Hawaii Bowl. Read stories like this and more in your latest edition of The Ennis News.
