Considered a huge underdog in last week’s home opener, Dallas’ A Plus Academy tacked on a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to stave off Rice, 36-14, in East Dallas.
Rice, 4-7 and a playoff berth in Royce Slechta’s first season, routed A+ by a 5714 count. HC Michael Scott, who previous coached at Rice, got a measure of payback thanks to a sensational performance by his senior QB Abdiel Gurrola.
